BEST WINERY AWARD 2010

 

INTRO

 

The first-ever Cyprus Award for the Best Winery will be launched in May 2010. The formal administration of the Award Scheme will be under CAS – Cyprus Awards Schemes, which is a partnership of professionals aiming to recognise, celebrate and corporately promote good services and products internally in Cyprus and to a global community through tourism initiatives.

 

JUDGING

 

The Judging Committee will comprise of key people that know about Wineries & Winemaking as well as aesthetics, interior design and architecture plus environmental issues and facilities for visitors.  An independent Oenologist will lead the Judging Committee as well as one Architect, one Interior Designer, an appointed person who will deal with environmental issues and a person with food and wine knowledge to judge facilities.

Best environmentally conscious

 

Best facilities for visitors

 

Best overall

 

The Judging Committee will propose a shortlist of 10 Wineries from the proposed list:

2.       Ayia Mavri  -Kilani Limassol

 

3.       Constantinou Winery – Pera Pedi Limassol

 

4.       Domaine Hadjiantonas – Pareklishia Pafos

 

5.       Domaine Vlassides  - Kilani Limassol

 

6.       Ezousa Winery – Kannaviou Pafos

 

7.       Fikardos Winery- Mesogi Pafos

 

8.       Kamanterena – Stroumbi Pafos

 

9.       Kolios Winery – Statos-Ayios Photios Pafos

 

10.   Ktima Mallia  - Mallia Limassol

 

11.   Kyperounda Winery – Kyperounda Limassol

 

12.   Lambouri – Platres Limassol

 

13.   Makkas Winery – Statos Ayios Photios Pafos

 

14.   Olympus – Omodhos Limassol

 

15.   Tsangarides Winery – Lemona Pafos

 

16.   Tsiakkas Winery – Pelendri Limassol

 

17.   Vasa Winery – Vasa Limassol

 

18.   Vasilikon Winery – Kathikas Pafos

 

19.   Vouni Panayia Winery – Panayia Pafos

The below criteria will be taken into account. Thereafter each finalist Winery will be visited to ascertain the category winners which will be announced at an Award Ceremony in July 2010.

·         Technological infrastructure in terms of know-how

 

·         Quantitative and qualitative strength in terms of vineyard ownership

 

·         Prospects they appear to have

 

Sponsorship Opportunity

 

Media Sponsors – Cyprus Mail, OMEGA TV and Pafos Radio, will aim to promote the Award from the launch to the winning presentation, maximising on promotional exposure for Sponsors and Wineries alike.

 

Corporate promotional activity will include the printing of flyers, posters, advertising, display boards at the Award Ceremony, photographic shoots.

 

Level One

 

Proportionate coverage on all promotional activity will be contracted between CAS/Sponsors, valued at 750 euros, aiming for 6.

 

Level Two

 

Proportionate coverage on all promotional activity will be contracted between CAS/Sponsors, valued at 1500 euros, aiming for 4.
