Well, you must be paying him a lot. The Press said Bruce pulled out cos of his wage demands and chose Bramble instead. I'm being serious here Pete. He was finished a few years ago. I saw Kenwyne Jones slaughter him when he played for Pompey. He turned it on a bit for Arsenal last season but he was only a bit part player, what will he be like as a regular in a defence that is gonna be under a lot of pressure? Surely he won't get into your team ahead of that Class centre back Williamson You never know he may prove me wrong but I am glad we are not depending on him. Gary

I heard he actually snubbed your lot because of his missus, nothing to do with wages Actually if what you said is true, doesn't that mean then that we're still able to pay better wages than you then Plus I don't think he'll be a regular 1st team player, as we do have 4 other center backs in Tayls (injured for now) Colo, Williamson & Kadar, so I think he'll probably play some games but not 1st choice As for your comment re Williamson being class, he may not be up there with the Terrys or Ferdinands (Rio that is, not the shadow that you currently have) but I'll bet he's in a better class than some of your so-called 1st choice defenders, ie Bramble, Ferdinand, Kilgallon (good value he was, plays loads too eh) etc etc

The Daily Mail are saying he snubbed us to sign for you which is clearly not the case as Bruce pulled out once he signed Bramble. Gary

Well are you sure Soupuss didn't buy Bramble because Campbell snub you I mean why else would Sourpuss buy a player like Bramble unless he was desperate after being snubbed by Campbell

You make things up to suit as you go along. Now the rumour going around Sunderland at the mo is that Emile Heskey has said his goodbyes at Villa Park and is in talks with us. If this is true, expect Kenwyne Jones to be sold. Watch this space. Gary

See, this is the thing I don't get about Sourpuss & the Muckems, you're going to sign a 32yr old striker who can't score for toffee-nuts & let go of an 25yr old younger striker seems to me that Sourpuss is trying to find jobs for his OLD mates 32yr old Heskey - 1 goal per 9 games - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emile_Heskey25yr old Jones - 1 goal per 3.5 games - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenwyne_JonesAs for making things up mate, I'm not, I'm just putting an alternative twist to the same thing

It's a fact that we lost interest in Campbell when we preferred Bramble and Bruce came out in the press and said so. That was some days before he chose to let you fill his bank account. As for Heskey and Jones, we'll see. We'd get about 10 to 12million for Jones and pay about 1million for Heskey. That would pay for NZogbia or Ireland. I am not saying Heskey can do a job for us as I just don't know but Bruce does know him and may fell he can link up with Bent. We'll wait and see. Gary

Well I think you've missed out on both of those targets mate as Zogs is off to Marseille & Ireland is supposedly staying at Citey or being part of the deal to get Milner to Citey As for Jones, I doubt anyone is willing to pay that much for him when he hardly scored anything last season now are they well swap you Shola & £2m cash for Jones, how's that sound, at least then Bramble will have someoone who'll speak to him at your club

Well the way I look at it is Boogs, he was offered the same deal at Arsenil but turned it down, he was offered more money by the Muckems & turned them down no matter what Gary says about them takiing Bramble instead, so he can't be all that bad a signing if other teams were after him now can he I'm just shocked that Arry wasn't chasing him due to his Spurts connection, I mean, he seems to think that Joe Cole wanted to go to the Spurts but thats been denied too

Like I say Pete you have a very active imagination. He told Bruce he would give his answer after his wedding. When Bruce bought Bramble he told the press that was his interest in Campbell finished. Now that is a fact Pete. I don't mind you trying to get a bite from me but expect you to tell the truth not just invent things like a child. Gary

Sorry Pete, I hold my hands up, you are correct and Sol Campbell is the future of English football and will be seen as the signing of this and every other season once the football starts It's no good even I cannot keep that one up. I seem to recall you praising your club for its announced policy of only signing players who were young and who would have a re-sale value. I doubt even you can claim Campbell falls into that category. I accept you got him on a free but the £30k or £35k a week you are reported to be paying him is a lot of money that could have been spent on newer, younger players. Be honest for once and accept he is a donkey and you know it. From now on I will stop calling him Judas and refer to him as EYORE Cheers John

I understand Perch is on 18k a week. Sure he'll be happy with Sol's wages. Anyway, here is the proof that we gave up on Sol and it was not the way you invented it. Read the last few lines and look at the date ! http://www.journallive.co.uk/safc/safc- ... -26905383/Gary

Boogs, I never said he was the future of English football, all I said was that if other clubs like Arsenil, Muckem & Celtic wanted him then he can't have been that bad Yes he's on 35k a week for 1 year, thats approx £1.8m, where as Perch is on £18k a year for 4 years, thats over twice a smuch as Campbell with a lot less experience Do I agree with us getting him after the statement said we were only going to buy under 26 yr old players, no I don't but since he was a freebie & as with what happened to Tayls, he's in as emergency cover & if he plays well, then good on him but I personally wouldn't have got him in no!! Sorry Boogs but I think even Arry would have had him for FREE if he'd had the choice & to say he's a donkey is a little harsh compared to 2 of your defender, King & Woodgate, who can't even play a full season between them never mind on their own & I bet you're paying both of them way, way more than we're pay Sol

Oh just to calrify the Sol signing, apparently accoring to crap-loids reports today, Houghton had to beg Ashley to allow him to sign Sol & Ashley said ‘You know it’s shorter term but it fits your needs,’ Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... z0v9t4Rem5So there you go, our prefered option are younger player but if CH feels a player who's older fits the bill, then Ashley will allow it

I didn't realise you had posted a reply to the fact that I put you right about Sol snubbing us. I must be going blind as I can't see any reference from you to that point. Gary

I conceded by letting you have the final say, isn't that what you always wanted or would you prefer me to say: Yes you were right GaryIs that ok, are you a happier man now As for never saying I'm wrong, I'll think you'll find that I've done that on several occasion with Boogs posts, ask him if you don't believe me, so in this case, you're wrong you going to admit it now

Pete Do you honestly believe Arry would have signed Eyore for Spurs after the way he left the club . Even if Eyore had been a free signing and had offerred to pay us for the priviledge of playing for us he would still not have been signed. If I read your recent post properly then your lot have a published policy of only signing young players who have a resale value unless someone outside of that critiria becomes available - not much of a hard and fast transfer policy is it? Cheers John

Something like that Boogs, I think it was because of what happened to Tayls that prompted us to sign Sol & due to his experience & that CH know's him well, not sure what the exact critria is for sure but normally they would be 26 or under according to that statement & what was said by CH

I honestly had not seen or heard about this one when I wrote about looking at Given.
Of the 2 I think you have a better chance getting Given as Hart is seen as the future of English keepers. I know he was out at Brum last season and they wanted him back, if Man City would not let him go to them why would they let him come to Sunderland??
If you can get him then good luck to you as he will certainly do a good job for you.
Cheers
John
